restorative yoga

Restorative yoga is a restful practice that holds yoga poses (asanas) for a longer duration using props like yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters. It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga and the union of body and mind. Through the use of props for support, many of the postures are held almost effortlessly and is designed for all levels.

 

prenatal yoga

Prenatal yoga is a type of yoga designed for pregnant women. Yoga is intended to create a balance between emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual dimensions. Prenatal yoga is about helping you prepare for childbirth by relaxing the body and focusing on safe techniques and poses in all stages of pregnancy.

Vinyasa flow Yoga

Immerse yourself in the dynamic world of Vinyasa Yoga, a practice characterized by continuous movement and a faster pace. In this exhilarating class, poses are seamlessly woven together with the rhythm of your breath, creating a powerful and energetic flow. Hatha yoga

slow Flow Yoga

Slow flow yoga is a style of yoga that emphasizes slow, mindful movements and extended holds in poses. It is a gentler and more accessible form of yoga and is intended to evoke calm, peace, and mindfulness.

 

Yin Flow Yoga

Yin Flow Yoga is a slow-paced and gentle style of yoga that involves holding poses for extended periods, typically ranging from one to five minutes or even longer. It focuses on targeting and lengthening connective tissues in the body, such as fascia, tendons, and ligaments, to increase joint mobility and flexibility. This practice encourages mindfulness, relaxation, and stress reduction, making it an excellent complement to more dynamic forms of yoga and exercise, suitable for individuals of various fitness levels.

Mixed Flow yoga

Experience the harmonious blend of yoga, often called "flow," due to its rhythmic and seamless transition between postures. Our Mixed Flow classes maintain a steady pace, guiding you gracefully in and out of poses. These sessions cater to practitioners of all levels, ensuring everyone finds a challenge without feeling overwhelmed. free community Flow yoga

Experience the harmonious blend of sangha and yoga, called Community Flow. Enjoy this FREE yoga class every Sunday with community. Our Community Flow class maintains a steady pace, guiding you gracefully in and out of poses. These sessions cater to practitioners of all levels, ensuring everyone finds a challenge without feeling overwhelmed. Community Flow Yoga draws inspiration from various yoga styles including Hatha, Yin, and Vinyasa.

Hot Pilates & Intro to Pilates

Hot Pilates is a dynamic fitness class that combines floor and mat exercises with interval training in a heated room, typically set to 90-100 degrees with high humidity. This unique fusion workout provides a multifaceted fitness experience. It aims to strengthen muscles, boost cardiovascular endurance, and enhance flexibility. Hot Pilates is an effective workout and an enjoyable and refreshing fitness option that engages every part of the body, particularly emphasizing strengthening the core. Intro to Pilates is a non-heated introductory class to pilates with less cardio rounds and longer pre and post workout stretching.

hiiT cardio (high intensity interval training)

Experience HIIT, a type of interval training exercise that incorporates a warm up, several rounds of cardio exercises that alternate between several minutes of high intensity movements to significantly increase the heart rate to at least 80% of one's maximum heart rate, followed by short periods of lower intensity movements and cool down. We incorporate light weights, bands, heat, and other props. HIIT increases metabolism, builds muscle strength and toning, while increasing cardio endurance.

 

sacred dance

An hour of dances that are meditational, soothing, and speak to who we are and to the world around us.  A variety of music and themes that include celebrations of the seasons and other rites of passage.  Some dances come from the Findhorn Community where Sacred Circle Dance originated.  All dances are taught first. Ideal for all levels of dance experience. Led by Maureen Atkins.

Which offering is right for me?

Mountain Sangha strives to offer classes that are attainable and effective for everyone. We offer modification options in every class. Choosing what feels good for you depends on desired pace (fast or slow), effectiveness (less or more intensity), overall health need/desire (flexibility, calm, strength, muscle toning, cardio health, emotional release), while considering your experience, injuries, and body capabilities.
